The lady who became the first woman to be elected into the board of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) and who garnered the most votes of all the contestants who vied for a place in the 15 member board of the Council has said that her principles of transparency and of course hard work were what endeared her to the electorates at the election.
Princess Chi Ezeh is a delectable and totalling charming middle aged woman with experiences in the freight forwarding business spanning so many years.
She spoke with us on her victory at the election as she started by expressing her happiness, joy and gratitude to God for availing her the opportunity to achieve the impressive victory at the election. She also expressed her gratitude to the men and women who out of the love and support and also the trust that they have in her competence thronged the Abuja venue of the election to vote her into the board.

The CRFFN is at the moment and barring any court judgement to the contrary, a Government Agency mandated to regulate all the activities in freight forwarding and also the freight forwarders themselves, it was set up by an act of parliament of 2007. The Council had been an original idea of some freight forwarders, but was later taken over by the government of the day. The Government currently appoints 17 out of the 32 member board while the remaining 15 are usually elected from the ranks of the freight forwarders on a three year tenure..
Prodded to tell what magic wand she waved to perform so delightedly at the election, Princess Chi said that there was no magic wand whatsoever, but that she has a record of previously performing very well as the chairman of the registration committee for past Council election and so people noticed and memorised her level of transparency, efficiency, composure, hard work and tenacity of purpose in carrying out the work of travelling all over of the country to register people for the election and that that singular responsibility sort of opened up a real channel of opportunity for her acquaintance with the people and the processes. The beautiful, but camera shy yet smartly dressed business woman preaches that what you do at your younger age, leaves a reward for you at your older age and that that seemed to have also played out here for her.
When asked if being a pretty woman contributed to her success, she answered that everyone is unique in his or her way, but that her hard work, focus and sagacity were contributory factors to her success. She said that her victory has nothing to do with her said sultry looks and that if you are pretty and decide to spend all your day sleeping on your bed, you will not achieve any success, but that rather, you need to apply the needed hard work in order to succeed. Quoting Princess Chi she said that “No matter how pretty you are, you need to apply yourself to some course in other that you might succeed”.
When asked about her guiding principle and policies, she said that naturally, she hates cheating, but also applies the principles of transparency and accountability in order to guide her every act, she echoed further that when you put all the principles that she has outlined above, success will surely emerge for you and that since the Council is charged with various known responsibilities, these principles will guide her in the discharge of her duty at the Council.
On her advise to women who shy away from the public glare, she admonished them to come out of their cocoon and try to realise all their God given potentials, she noted that even though women form a larger percentage of the population, they are still hiding from the limelight and thus hiding the natural talents that they should use to develope the society that they themselves have helped to mould. She said that “For the mere fact that the good Lord has used me to blaze a trail, that other women can equally be used in so many other ways. Women give birth to both the man and the woman and help a great deal in nurturing them and so they should also be bold enough to come out and chart the course of any society”. Princess Chi said that women should come out and that show the unique and good qualities that they have to everyone and that their opportunities should not be limited to just managing the homes and waiting to be provided for, she encourages women not to be scared, but to seek to put thier latent potentials into good use. In her words “They can come into the freight forwarding business and practice like others, the environment is not really discriminatory to any gender, you just need to be focused and to work hard”.
