The newly elected and sworn-in members of the Murtala Mohammed Airport Command chapter of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders had their hand over ceremony Friday, the occassion provided a good atmosphere for the out gone interim executive committee members, former committee executive members as well as the present executive committee members to air their views on the way forward.
The occassion saw several members of other Freight Forwarding associations and Licensed Customs Agents at the event to help welcome the present heads of the chapter into office.

The former chairman of the chapter who held the helm for 12 years, Dr. Segun Musa took time to advise the new executive committee members to work towards the training of members to fully understand the rudiments of the profession in order to acquaint and equip themselves with the relevant modern techniques and tools of carrying out their trade. In his words “We are trying to create an enabling environment for them to flourish as well as guiding them towards helping membership empowerment as it is the essence of an association. We are also here to help them in their duty on membership drive”. Dr. Segun advises the new executive members and the generality of members that it is good to be servant leaders and that the members should also know how to use the appropriate channels or mechanisms to direct the executive members to do the right thing always as there should be total quality management for the wellbeing of the association.

Mr. C. C. Iwegbuna the former administrative secretary of the interim executive that helped midwife the new exco admonished them to operate an open door policy, have a listening ear in order that they may have the full cooperation of members. He also advocated that members should conduct themselves professionally and improve themselves by way of engaging in training and the required knowledge.
The new vice chairman of the association, Mr. Fatai Ayomide says that he is elated to be the new vice chairman and stated that he hopes to carry on with his advocacy for the betterment of fellow freight forwarders as he has always done and that with the permission of the chairman hopes to do more. The man who is popularly known as _akogun 999_ stated that his intention was to vie for the position of secretary, but was prevailed upon to vie for the position of vice chairman which he promptly won. He extolled the virtues of his chairman and prays that they can take the chapter to a higher pedestal. He also talked about financially helping members into the NAGAFF academy for training.

The new chairman on his part said that he feels great about the smooth hand over and he described the day as “a red letter day”. He promises to run an equitable and all inclusive tenure where everybody’s opinion will count as he stated that education is a key to unlock all good potentials and that he would engage in the training of members. He also promises to take the chapter to “A higher level”.
