Members of the Powerful Pen Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Congress on Wednesday the 7th of June gathered at their temporary Secretariat at Apapa to elect a new executive for the Chapel.

Voting in progress.

The exercise started around ten o’clock in the morning with the introduction of all the contestants by the three man electoral committee members who made all the necessary arrangements for the success of the election.

Since the state executive members of the NUJ were expected to conduct the election, there was a two hour delay as the members of the TPPMC waited for the arrival of the state executive members led by the Chairman, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi who were trapped in the very notorious Lagos traffic.

They eventually arrived to conduct the election and after a further delay occasioned by the protest by some disenfranchised members whose case were later resolved by Mr. Ajayi and his executive members, the election was eventually conducted. At the end of it all, a new seven man executive team was elected with Udeme Clement as Chairman, Asuquo Nuwak as Vice Chairman, Silas Onuoha as Secretary, Dili Utomi as Assistant Secretary, Patrick Onugbor as Financial Secretary, Ossie Onyenwezi as Treasurer and Joe Njoku as Internal Auditor.
