The Apapa chapter of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) in its bid to continue to familiarise itself with the different bonded terminals and the officials of such terminals has continued its tour of the terminals within its jurisdiction.

The chapter chairman of the association, Dr. Sylvester Budu in company with some of his executive members, Saheed Razak secretary, Lawrence Uba assistant secretary, Abdulhakeem Olodan treasurer visited the Kachicares bonded terminal at the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos. The team was received at the terminal by the managing director of the terminal, Prince Lawrence Eboji.

Dr. Budu said that their main objective of visiting the terminal, was to acquaint themselves with the terminal, rub minds together and sensitise them about the activities of their association as regards making jobs easier and tackling issues as they emerge. He noted that they also have a compliance team that is meant to educate people about the proper channel to take in getting their jobs cleared and moved to the designated destinations. He noted that the chapter intends to have some of the members of their compliance team on ground at the terminal.

Prince Eboji commended the entourage and said that the stated objectives of the association is noble as he spoke about the difficult terrains that they operate in, he enumerated some of the challenges as multiple units of the Customs on the roads, the terrible nature of some the assess roads, the slow pace of the process of goods clearing and the persistent human errors that are negatively impacting on business. The MD also decried the proximity of these Customs check points to the areas of documentation and discharge of goods as he hopes that things will be done in better manners like in other climes. He expresses his desire to work with the chapter execute to make their operations much easier.
