The director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Bashir Jamoh received the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor in his office as part of the collaboration on security matters. At the brief meeting, the DG said that “The removal of War Risk Insurance Premium on Nigerian-bound vessels (and their cargo) is premised on the sustained security of merchant shipping in Nigerian Waters and the greater Gulf of Guinea region”.

DG Jamoh added that “We must continue this collaboration to ensure that the gains in recent times regarding the reduction of piracy results in the removal of war risk insurance premium.”
