Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, the NNPP founder addressing the press.
Story by Dili Utomi.
The conference hall of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) was practically filled to the rafters as freight forwarders and Journalists gathered on Friday for the press conference organised by the founder of the NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam who is also the founder of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), a political party looking to make inroads into national politics during the upcoming 2023 elections.
Dr. Aniebonam in his speech said that “It is not news to all that good governance has eluded our country for so long, leading to difficulties to earn a good life. This is remotely caused by our disrespect for the rule of law and regulations. The inability of the government to effectively enforce the laws of the land is a major factor under the circumstance and the need to restart civil order becomes imperative. Therefore, our invitation to this gathering is to seek for your cooperation to educate and enlighten the greater numbers of Nigerians to take responsibility and elect credible Nigerians in the forthcoming election”.
Pressmen jostling for position during the press conference.
He urged everyone to go out register and to mobilise others in order to win over ten million votes that would give NNPP and its sole candidate in the presidential election of next year the mandate to take over the presidency. He argued that in Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso who is the presidential candidate of the party, the party is featuring a “Great leader” as he asks everyone to rally round him.
Dr. Aniebonam said that Kwakwanso’s three main focus will deal squarely on the issue of national unity, kick starting of the economy for the better good of all and the issue of security which he noted has pushed the country to the precipice.
At the question and answer sesson, the founder also touched on the matter of freight forwarders’ welfare as he lamented that the Council for the Registration of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has not been truly alive to its responsibility, he informed the gathering that their lawyers have been paid the sum of One million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira to continue with the case of determining whether the CRFFN is a government agency or private.
Dr. Aniebonam conclusively admonished that what the country needs is a great leader who will channel the energies and resources of the country to achieve her goals of development and that all the insecurity and agitations that are prevailent in the country now will be a thing of the past if this is done, he then asked everyone in the gathering to help push the presidential ambition of Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso, the man that he said that he has completely handed the structures of the NNPP to, he further extolled the qualities of the flag bearer.
