The immediate past Chairman of the Tin Can Island Port Chapter of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Fwdr Azubuike Ekweozor has single handedly constructed two roads valued at N80 million for the residents of the area at Okota, Lagos State.
The project which measures about one kilometre was constructed with interlocking stones and complete with Solar Panel Street Lights, gutters and cuts across both Chief Akude and Ojelade streets in Okota Lagos.

The project took a better part of two months to complete and cost in excess of Eighty Million Naira (#80,000,000.00).
The commissioning ceremony of the project took place last weekend, and it coincided with the new year party of the Akude/Ojelade/Amonota landlord and Tenant Association where Chief Ekweozor is also the chairman.
It was all fun for the residents, even as the Area Commander of the Area D Command of the Nigeria Police Force Mushin, ACP Shika Abubakar was represented by CSP Oluwole Oyewole.
In his address as the chairman of the residents association, Chief Ekweozor said “Today, we are not here to boast about all that we were able to achieve for the out-gone year, but also recall that there are also some areas that we might not have met the expectations of our members, and possibly there are some other aspects that we may have done much better, here again, we do not claim perfection in either way and should there be anyone who feels offended by our administrative policies or who we unknowingly stepped on their toes, we crave your understanding and urge us all to put the past behind us for the sake of positive communal existence”.
It will be recalled that Chief Azubuike Ekweozor also during the Corona Virus pandemic in 2020 donated the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (#250,000,000.00) to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as part of the collective efforts to raise money to procure the necessary preventive and curative items against the covid-19.
Notable personalities that were at the road commissioning ceremony were; Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, the National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and Chief Eugene Nweke, a former president of NAGAFF who chaired the occasion and many other big wigs from the maritime industry.
The executive members of the residents association include Chief Azubuike Austin Ekweozor who is the chairman, Prince Chris Odoemelam is the vice chairman, Ayomide Shodipe is the secretary, Bamidele Gabriel is the financial secretary, Ngozi Okere is the welfare officer, while Kingsley Ejiogu is the provost. There are also two ex-officio members of the executive namely Tochukwu Ibezim and Yetunde Laoye.
When asked why he invests so much into philanthropy, Chief Ekweozor quipped “Nothing, but it is just to encourage everyone who has the capacity to show goodwill for the sake of humanity and also to help government to cover areas where they seem handicapped”.
