Christmas is known all over the world as a period to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, however the bigger import of the day is for one to learn how to imbibe the spirit of magnanimity, gratitude and love as shown by the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In keeping with these values as well as to reach out to people in musical ministry, the Bishop of Lagos West Diocese of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Bishop James Olushola Odedeji hosted the Bishop Ajayi Crowther Memorial Anglican Church (BACMAC) choir in a Christmas carol at the Bishop Court, Ikeja.

The occasion saw the very popular choir singing such regular Christmas songs as the First Noel, Elu Agogo and Ibike, Holy Night and lots more. There was also a solo presentation by the lady with a most pleasant voice, Ifunanya Anakwe who gave her own rendition of Jesu Bambino (infant Jesus), Angels from the realms of Glory as well as other songs.

The Vicar of BACMAC, Ven. Taiwo Olupitan in an interview said that the occasion was meant to honour the presence of the Bishop and his wife for their support to his parish as well as to preach the message that the period of Christmas brings. He advises that everyone should imbibe the message of Christmas as a season of hope, charity and love and prayed that the country moves in the right direction in the incoming year of election.
A plaque of appreciation was also presented by the Vicar to the Bishop in appreciation of his untiring love for the parish of BACMAC and his fatherly guidance and support.
Bishop Odedeji in an interview said that he is elated with the BACMAC choir as they have always made the church and country proud. He said that his Christmas message is the message of hope in the midst of hopelessness, help in the midst of helplessness, restoration in our state of perplexity as God sent a son in the form of human to set us free which means that God can bring out something out of our nothingness.
The music director of BACMAC Kelechi Agu aslo urged everyone to imbibe the message of humility that the birth of Christ represents and treat other people with the kindness and love that they deserve.
