The Diocesan choral competition an annual event under the sponsorship of Stag Engineering is in its 11th edition and the BACMAC Choir is taking part in it again. This choral activity is to ensure that choirs are developed in the Diocese of Lagos West. This is one of the great visions of the Diocesan Lord Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji. The competition is managed and under the chairmanship of Otunba Adetunji Adekoya.

The vicar of BACMAC, Ven. Taiwo Olupitan has given the choir maximum support and encouragement and has inspired the choir to go forth and claim the victory as they showed in the Lagos state choir awards. The Master of Music Mr Agu Kelechi is optimistic that the choir will give a great show and a better class of music. Mr Agu says that the choir’s vision is to evangelise through singing and also promoting the Diocese with their voices. He also goes further to state that this will be a step in preparing the choir for the maiden edition of the African choral Gospel championship which will be held in South Africa come November 2021. Therefore BACMAC CHOIR being the only church choir out of Nigeria to participate in this African choral event needs a lot of tests to determine her readiness.
BACMAC choir shall be performing with full orchestration and traditional instrumentation such musical compositions from
Dr. H. Walford Davies, Rev. L Flintoff, David Aina and James Varrick Armaah.

BACMAC choir has participated in series of choral competitions and came out victoriously with the Lagos state choir awards as the latest.

The competition takes place at the Bola Memorial Anglican Church Ikeja on the 11th of July by 3pm. BACMAC choir shall perform and compete with other churches within the Diocese. In line with the church’s mission to evangelise through music, the fans and lovers of the choir are urged to be at the venue to watch.

The performance will also be streamed live on the various social media handles of the choir.
